Irma Records Reggae Dub Drum'n'Bass Electro/Tech House
Frank Siccardi (aka Frank S) started spinning in the 80s, playing Reggae, Dub, Acid Jazz and World Music. By the end of the 90s Drum'n'Bass became his favourite mixing music style. He soon moved on to play also House and Broken Beats. He deejays regularly in Milano, where he lives and where he has his club residencies, and in various locations in Italy and Europe (Berlin, Vienna, London, Switzerland). As label manager, Frank founded two of the most interesting House labels to come out of Italy in the 90s: first Reform and then Reshape, tha latter responsible among other things for a series of remixes of classics from the Salsoul catalogue, long before the current revivalism on that label! Around the turn of century Frank, together with Enrico 'Volcov' Crivellaro, founded two of the best Italian electronic labels to date: Sonica (first Italian D'n'B label active from 1998 until 2000, it released material by Digital, Matrix, Sonar Circle, Paradox, Alpha Omega, Q Project and Volcov) and Archive, still one of the most exciting and innovative labels around, now run by Volcov on his own. In 2001 Frank joined Irma Records and created the Head To Toe imprint, dedicated to Broken Beats. The label has released material by international artists such as Atjazz, Catalyst (aka Alex Attias), Opaque (aka Seiji), Riton, Nubian Mindz, G-Force (Bugz In The Attic), Alex Phountzi (Bugz In The Attic), Yukihiro Fukutomi, Total Science, Sonar Circle (aka Domu), Cuica, Maddslinky (aka Zed Bias) and many more, always with a great response from media and public. Head To Toe also released in Japan a compilation titled 'Footprints'. On Irma's Cuadra imprint Frank S has selected Jungle Jazz 5 in 2001 and the four volumes of the Sambass series (dedicated to Brazilian Drum'n'Bass). Sambass 1 was released in 2003 and was one of the most successful Irma releases that year. Sambass 2 was released in 2004 and followed the footsteps of the first volume. Sambass 3 was released in early 2006 as a 2CD canvas covered box set, including 11 exclusive cuts by names like DJ Patife and Drumagick, just to name a couple. Sambass 4 is released this summer and features more exclusive and unreleased tunes!!!
